Just a reminder to check out the  "Clothing Sale" tab on the website KJRA is having a fundraiser clothing sale.. I will bring order forms with to the rodeo but they are also on the website for you to print. Order deadline with money or check (wrote out to "KJRA") will be August 30th and all clothing will be delivered at the October 10th rodeo.

 

Rember  we are on the down swing of the season it is time to start thinking about next year’s pivot, Princess and Queen Contestants. I have added a tab with all the info on running for any of these positions. Last chance to sign up will be at our next rodeo (August 29th-30th) (at the sign in table)

 

At our August rodeo we will be holding a pulled pork sandwitch sale... This will be a picnic / covered dish type meal. As in the past at our "pot luck" meal every family brings a dish to share and then you can purchase a pulled pork sandwitch if you want.

 

also... after the eating is done we will be hosting a goat roping.... that's right goat r o p i n g.. it's a fun time to be had by all and a great way to earn some money for the association

 

Lastly Our Annual October rodeo festivities will go on as usual.. Following the rodeo we will have a costume party in the arena.. parents are encouraged to participate.

 

Prizes will be awarded for

 

1. Costume-most creative, scariest, funniest, best group, best adult, cutest, most original/ unique,

 

2. Candy Table - creative, scariest, most original, best candy

 

3. Game winners

Hey ya'll... hope everyone is having a great summer and a refreshing rodeo break... As we are slowly coming to a end of another great KJRA rodeo season I have a few things to mention

1. This coming weekend is our "Fun Show" at Benton and today is the last day to sign up (Hurry)

2. Our next weekend of rodeo (July 25th) will be the bull riding learning experience on Saturday after the rodeo. Following that We will be having a movie night. Movie will start around 8-8:30ish and will be pg13 rated (or less)

Last time we ended up with a lot of desserts (which I didn't see a problem with) and not a lot of side dishes so this year I was thinking maybe the first half of the alphabet could bring a side and the last half desserts??? Just a thought... more info closer to time to come

We will be having a Welcome KJ contestants get-together at the pavilion at 7:00 p.m Saturday nite. Bring a chair and enjoy snacks, drinks and a little music. Meet new members and re-connect with old members!

Saturday 6/7/2014 Activities

On Saturday evening at this weekend's rodeo, there will be a goat tying clinic for those interested. It will be limited to twenty students on a first come fist served basis. The fee is $20.00 per person. If you are interested, please contact Stefanie Hollenbach directly at 570-765-2056.

 

There will also be a movie night starting at about 8:30PM Saturday night.

May 24 Activities After The Rodeo

This Saturday evening, May 24, We will be doing a memorial fund raiser for Carrie Hackenberger. Carrie and her mother were founding members of KJRA, and Carrie lost her life in a tragic automobile accident.

 

We will be having an open barrel race, and open pole bending. We will be charging ten dollars per run, and the proceeds will got towards Carrie's Memory. Please plan to be a part of this important activity.

June Entry Forms and Reminders

The entry forms for June 7-8 rodeos are now available online. The entry deadline will be extended to May 26 because of the rodeo weekend May 24-25.

Reminders...

It is Benton Rodeo Association's policy that no dogs or cats will be allowed past the chain link fence. Please keep pets at your camp site.

Please remeber to NOT tresspass on the airport runway. If you are found on the runway, you will be disqualified for the day.

Western attire needs to be taken seriously for all contestants. This rule applies any time you are in the arena. This includes grand entry, your runs, and if you are in the arena helping another contestant.

Tobacco and alcohol use is prohibitted for all contestants, regardless of age. If you wish to use tobacco products, it must be kept at your campsite.

More information on the Benton Rodeo Chicks...

 

 

The Benton Rodeo Chicks is the drill team that performs during grand entry and closing ceremonies during the Benton Rodeo week in mid July.

 

 

If you would like to try out for the team, tryouts are on April 2nd from 6-8PM, and on April 6 from 12-2PM. Please call Tonya Konnapinski to pre-register for the try-outs. Her cell number is 570 760 6767 home 570 477 2336. Thank you
